Awesome music: James – Laid (Live and Studio Music Video)

by Dave

I think this tune is fantastic. The live version is better (in my humble opinion) but I just love the way it builds. James | Laid Live Version The energy of the live performance just drags you in. Lyrics: This bed is on fire With passion and love The neighbours complain about the noises above [...]

Prepare a Fire Escape Plan to Ensure You and Your Family Survive a Deadly House Fire

by Dave

Do you have an escape plan in the event of fire in the home? I’ve got a young family and all four of my children being 10 or under, so as you might imagine safety in the home is important to me. A few nights ago the battery in the smoke alarm failed and I [...]

Hubby’s Home – A New Resource for Work at Home Parents

by Dave

My blogging career has taken me full circle. A little over 3 years ago I started my first site called Teach My Children Well. At that point I recognised that my life hadn’t gone quite the way I’d planned and I knew I needed to make some changes. The premise was that I would make [...]

Fiverr where you get everything for a fiver

by Dave

Saw this on Glen Allsopp’s site the other day. I had no idea this site even existed but what a great idea. There’s plenty of old rubbish on offer there but some great fun stuff too. Reading through Glen’s comments there’s a guy who paid a fiver to get some boob writing done and photgraphed! [...]

Life is about doing amazing things, things that matter

by Dave

Bollocks to this! I’ve had enough of this funk that’s lasted well over a decade. Life isn’t about suffering through the daily grind. Life is about doing amazing things. Things that interest and excite me. Things that matter. It’s about making genuine connections with the people in my life and spreading the happiness. It’s also [...]

Blue Moon – The Werewolf Cut

by Dave

This seems appropriate today, what with it being the 31st day of October and all. My eldest daughter (5) is transfixed watching the wolves sing and insists that I play it over an over again! To be honest I’m a bit bored with it after watching it 80 times, but if you haven’t seen it [...]

Do you know Turf Dad?

by Dave

Someone I thought had disappeared off the face of the blogosphere (oh how I dislike that word) appeared again out of thin air. Turf Dad is back! Well, by the looks of his archive pages it looks like he’s been back for a while, but anyway, if you don’t know him, go check out his [...]

Freight Train

by Dave

My youngest boy (7) loves to watch trains and as they go past we like to count the carriages. If we see one with 14 carriages it’s something to get excited about, seeing one with as many carriages as this would probably blow his mind: How many carriages did you count?

Say ‘Aaaaaah’ Adrenalynn

by Dave

A friend of mine posted a video and for no other reason than I think she’s brilliant I’m posting it here too. That is all.

Adele – Make You Feel My Love

by Dave

Just a beautiful song from a woman with an amazing voice. I believe this was written by Bob Dylan, but I have no idea who he wrote it for or even whether anyone recorded it before Adele. Anyway, I seriously doubt whether anyone could sing it better than this.

Clinically Dead

by Dave

Unlike Joe Hobot, I’ve never been clinically dead. As it happens, Joe has managed it twice! I’ve come close to the end a few times, most notably in a light aircraft that lost power after take off, and also when I was about a foot away from being pushed under a moving train by some [...]

What’s wrong with you?

by Dave

I mentioned on Twitter that I’d been to the doc because I’ve got a dodgy knee. If you kneed ( <— see what I did there?) to know what’s wrong with my knee… it started clicking and locking up. It’s quite funny if you’re not me. and if you are me, which I am, then [...]
